This policy explains what personal information I collect through this website and my YouTube channel, why I collect it, who I share it with, how long I keep it, and the rights you have. I have tried to write it in plain English. If anything is unclear, email me.

1. What I collect and why

I do not use the details you give me on the claim form to send you newsletters or marketing. If I ever offer a newsletter, it will be a separate, un-ticked opt-in box, and you will be able to unsubscribe from every email.

b) Contact forms and emails — If you contact me through the site or by email I keep your name, contact details and the content of your message so I can reply. Lawful basis: my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.

c) Website use — Like most websites, this site (which is built and hosted on Wix) uses cookies and similar technologies for security, to make the site work, and, if you accept them, for analytics. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the banner shown when you first visit, and change your choice at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer. Wix's own description of the cookies it sets is at https://www.wix.com/about/cookie-policy.

d) YouTube and social media — Comments, likes and messages you leave on the Staycation Lifestyle YouTube channel or social accounts are governed by those platforms' privacy policies. I can see them but I do not export or store them elsewhere.

I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. The discount scheme is only open to adults.

2. Who I share your information with

Your chosen converter. When you claim a code I will pass your name, email address[, telephone number] and your unique code to the converter you selected so they know to expect your enquiry and can honour the discount. The converter becomes responsible for how they use your information under their own privacy policy once they receive it. I do not pass your details to any converter you did not select, and I do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

Service providers who process data on my behalf — chiefly Wix.com Ltd, which hosts this website, stores form submissions and contacts, and sends the automated emails. Wix may store data on servers outside the UK (including in the EU, USA and Israel). Where that happens, transfers are covered by UK-recognised safeguards — Wix's Data Processing Agreement and standard contractual clauses — details at https://support.wix.com/en/article/wixs-data-processing-agreement-for-wix-users.

Where the law requires it — for example to HMRC in connection with referral-fee income, or to a regulator or court if legally obliged.

3. How long I keep it

 from the date the code is issued — 12 months while the code is valid, plus 12 months to reconcile any referral fee and deal with queries — then deleted

Records of referral fees actually paid to me

6 years after the end of the tax year, because HMRC requires business records to be kept for that long. These records contain only what is needed for accounts (code number, converter, date, amount)

4. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, I would appreciate the chance to put it right first — but you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint · 0303 123 1113.

5. Security

Your information is stored within my Wix account, which is protected by two-factor authentication and accessible only to me. Emails to converters are sent from my business email account. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information and will tell you and the ICO if a breach ever puts you at risk.

 

6. Changes to this policy

I will update this page if anything changes and update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes affecting people who have already claimed a code, I will email you.
